Day 0 - Introduction
Hi. My name is Nik. I’m not a meditation teacher. Nor am I a yoga teacher. I’ve practiced both for more than 20 years, but I am not a teacher of either. This project began because, one day, about a year ago, I realized that I wanted to do 30 days of affirmations for myself, and I thought others might want to do the same.
This year’s affirmations are centered around the theme of Embrace. I wanted to focus on all the wonderful and scary things and emotions that we can embrace in the world, in each other, and in ourselves.
As I’ve said many times before, I am not a firm believer in the Law of Attraction, at least not in the way it is often represented. I do not believe that saying certain things will make the universe give you everything you want.
However…
I DO believe that what you say can change your MINDSET about having and receiving what you want. Humans have a very strong affinity for confirmation bias – we look for evidence to confirm what we believe. If your mind believes that you have certain things or can do certain things, it will look for ways to confirm this is true.
That’s what I want this year’s affirmations to be for myself, and for others. A way to attune our minds to recognize things we want to embrace, emotions we want to embrace, everything we want to have in our lives. What we want to see in ourselves, in others, and in the world.
As always, I try to leave space after each affirmation for you to repeat it.
