What can I expect during the 30 Days?

The 30 Days of Affirmations begin January 1st, but of course, you can join anytime. If you are following in real-time, I will release the affirmations here on the website at 8 am Central time. You do not have to purchase anything – you can listen to it as often as you want.

What happens after the 30 Days?

Beginning the second week of February, I will release a new affirmation every Friday at 8am Central time.

All affirmations will be available to stream on the website, or for purchase on Bandcamp.com.

Why "Embrace"?

I wanted to focus this year’s affirmations on all the wonderful and scary things and emotions that we can embrace in the world, in each other, and in ourselves.

Are you a meditation teacher?

I am not a meditation teacher. I’m not making any claims here. This is NOT a substitute for medical or psychological care. I’m just a writer who practices meditation and yoga pretty regularly. I’ve found both to be tremendously helpful to me, mentally and physically. This does not mean it will be helpful to you. Some people love them. Some hate them. And that’s fine.

But, if affirmations intrigue you, maybe these will be a place for you to start.

If you're not a meditation teacher, why should I pay attention to you?

No reason. Seriously, there’s absolutely no reason for you to choose me over other people who practice meditation, or over actual meditation teachers. Maybe you’ll like my voice. Maybe you’ll like what I have to say. Or maybe you’ll say forget this and move on to something else. It’s all good. Seriously. It’s ALL good. Besides air and water, I can’t think of anything that’s good for everyone – and there are people who are allergic to water! So take any and everything I say with a grain of salt, use your own good judgment, take what works, and leave what doesn’t.

It’s ALL good.

What if I hate the affirmations?

 Not every one of the affirmations I say will resonate with everyone. Some might be uncomfortable. Some might feel completely false. That’s not unusual. In fact, that’s a big reason I decided to write my own – so many of the ones I read online just didn’t fit me. They felt false, untrue, even like lies sometimes.

I do NOT claim that this won’t happen to you here. It might very well happen to you. That’s why I encourage you to take what works for you and leave the rest. Rephrase the affirmations if you need to, to make them more true for you. You are the architect of your journey, and you are the writer of your story. Sounds corny, but it’s totally true. You are in control of your experience.
