August 30 - Release the Need for Perfection

Goodness gravy, do I need these affirmations this week!

I started graduate school last Wednesday and I am definitely having difficulty with it. Between the somewhat unrealistic expectations of one of the professors, to the fact that I’m traveling between my hometown and California, to my trying to keep up with my client’s content writing schedule, and my own blog and recordings, it’s just really been a lot. I even had a mini-meltdown when I posted a client’s social media post too early and couldn’t retrieve it. Ugh.

I’ve had to take myself in hand, and take a deep breath, and really take a look at everything that I was trying to do, and just remind myself that I don’t have to do everything perfectly.

I don’t have to be at 100% every moment.

I don’t have to get maximum credit for every assignment.

I don’t have to make everything perfect.

I had to stop and realize that I’m going to make mistakes, and that I’ve got to be OK with that. Sometimes the blog is going to be late. Sometimes I’ll click the wrong button. Sometimes I’m not going to get an A in class. 

And it’s really OK.

So this week I am reminding myself to release the need to be perfect, and to remember that sometimes OK really is OK,

And I hope these affirmations help you to remember that OK really is OK sometimes.
