Day 22 - I Release Self-Criticism

We all have an inner voice. Sometimes, it can be our greatest cheerleader.
Other times, it is our harshest critic.
It points out our flaws, our mistakes. It casts doubts on our decisions. It chips away at our sense of self-worth, at our self-confidence, and keeps us in a cycle of self-doubt and negativity.
It’s horrible.
And we can break that cycle.
I can’t say that we can completely get rid of that inner critic, but we can lower the volume of its voice. We can start to rewire our inner dialogue.
We can remember what we do right. We can remember the lessons we’ve learned and used. We can remember the kindness, love, and joy we have and that we share with others.
We can remember to speak to ourselves as we do to a friend.
We can begin to release self- criticism. To quote Elizabeth Gilbert:
Never forget that once upon a time, in an unguarded moment, you recognized yourself as a friend.
