Day 8 - I Release Worry

1/9/20251 min read

There’s a great quote from Erma Bombeck about worry:

Worry is like a rocking chair: it gives you something to do but never gets you anywhere.

Worry doesn’t help us.

Yes, we know this, but considering what goes on in our minds, we usually forget.

Worry is persistent and exhausting and totally unnecessary. It robs us of peace and happiness. It keeps us from enjoying today. And for all the energy it takes from us, it doesn’t help us at all.

We can choose to let go of worry.

Does this mean we’ll never worry again? Of course not. But, we can learn to control how much energy worry takes from us. We can choose how much attention we give. And we can use our power to let it go.

We can embrace calm, peace, and most of all, trust.

We can release worry.

Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy. - Leo Buscaglia
